YOUR PRIVACY CHOICES

A little more control.

Your journal is stored on your device. Here are the choices available in the current iOS app, and how to reach us about information you have sent by email.

Make a privacy request

Tell us whether you want access, correction, or deletion of information you sent to us. Start with a short description; please do not attach identity documents or your full journal.

[email protected]

Your email app will open. Nothing is sent until you choose to send it.

Delete entries or a photobook

Open an entry and use its delete control. To remove a whole photobook, open the book’s menu and choose its delete option, then read the confirmation. Deleting a photobook also removes its entries from the local journal.

To remove all local DayPho app data from an iPhone, use iPhone Settings → General → iPhone Storage → DayPho → Delete App. Offload App keeps documents and data, so it is not the same as deleting the app. Save a backup first if you want to keep a copy.

Access your data and manage copies

View and edit your records inside DayPho. Use Settings → Backup → Create backup file to export your journal. The file includes personal journal content and is not encrypted by DayPho.

Delete unwanted exports from Files, iCloud Drive, or whichever service you used. Check its recently deleted area and device-backup settings as well. Shared photo cards and copies held by other people must be managed separately. Removing the app does not remove these copies.

Choose photos and metadata

Only select images you want to import. A selected image can contain capture dates and GPS metadata, which may remain in DayPho and its backups. If you do not want embedded location information included, remove it from a copy before importing that copy.

DayPho does not request live location. You can leave optional profile, title, memo, and weather fields unset, and review the details shown on a photo card before sharing it.

Change notifications and permissions

Disable reminders in DayPho Settings → Reminder. You can also manage DayPho notification permissions in iPhone Settings. For any photo access permissions shown for DayPho by your iOS version, manage them in iPhone Settings → Privacy & Security → Photos.

Withdrawing a permission does not erase photos or entries that you already imported. Delete those records separately if you no longer want them stored in the app.

Information you have sent to us

Email [email protected] to ask about, correct, or delete support correspondence you have sent us. We may need enough information to locate your request and confirm that it is yours. Some records may need to be retained to meet legal obligations.

There is no DayPho online account to close, and we cannot access or remotely erase a journal stored only on your device. The current app has no connected advertising or tracking service to opt out of. See the privacy policy for website hosting and support-email information.
